Stu Rosner exhibition

Our neighbor and occasional collaborator, Stu Rosner is having a local exhibition of his photography from Cuba. Don't miss your chance to see his work in person at the Holyoke Center in Harvard Square.

The exhibition will be up from October 15 through November 3, with an opening reception October 15 from 5 to 7. It's free and open to the public. The Holyoke Center is the big building in Harvard Square with the Au Bon Pain out front. Head inside and find the gallery at the far end on the right, across from the pharmacy.

Bello Photography - Stacia & Colin

I worked with Stacia and Colin throughout the planning process - from save the dates right on through to wedding day paper goods. They were a delight to work with, and their photographers, Andy and Christine from Bello Photography were so kind as to share these photos from the event.

















The calligraphy on the escort cards, as well as the stunning hand-painted table numbers was done by Lynne of Inviting Company.

Jacob Arthur Photography

Over labor day weekend we celebrated my sister-in-law's wedding. It was a beautiful weekend and a beautiful event. Of course, we printed all of the paper goods!



Laura and Steve were lucky to find photographer Jacob Pritchard from Jacob Arthur Studio for their event - he did a bang-up job and was gracious enough to share some of his photos with us.



It's always a treat to get photos of our cards in situ, since we just package them up and ship them off. I love this detail of the escort table.



As the ladies got ready, Sadie sat wondering if her hair looked good.

Jake didn't take the pictures from the photobooth (which were so much fun) but I just adore this shot he took of the finished frames before they were put into the scrapbook.

Printing for the blind?

Another of this season's big trends (right after maps) has been utilizing letterpress's unique and luscious feature: the blind deboss. We run the paper through the press sans ink for the beautiful and subtle effect of design that is texturally tactile and bears a second look.



Often we use the blind print to add a quiet repetition of the design motif on the reply cards while keeping the card simple and clean, like the map above (*two* of this season's trends rolled into one!) and the orchid below.



Michelle and Mikhail designed their own invitations and made the blind print the centerpiece of the set, really showing off the letterpress effect.





[Why all the cities? The two decided that rather than have all of their friends and family travel to one big wedding party, the bride and groom would travel to *them* - thus a five-city whirlwind wedding week. Each guest then received a second piece inviting them to their city-specific party.]

Lastly we have a set of note cards for local photographer Melissa Coe. The blind print shows off her logo without interfering with written messages to clients. She snapped this photo during a press check last week. Thanks, Melissa!
