Ship shape

So satisfying to see all the colored envelopes lined up so neatly, packaged and ready to ship.

Out in the wild

I'm not sure if Cambridge is really *that* wild, but we will be out at several fairs in the next few weeks.

Halloween cards? Check.
Boston Park Sketches? Check.
Holiday cards? Taking orders.
Brand-spanking-new "Dear Mom and Dad I Joined the Circus" t-shirts and tote bags? In production.

Oktoberfest - our favorite German contribution since weinerschnitzl. Brave throngs of people (supposedly over 100,000), visit over 200 craft vendors, plus buy all the funnel cake and fair food you can eat, and, of course, beer (if you like being sardined into the teeny tiny little areas cordoned off for such public debauchery). Live music at several sound stages, and even pumpkin carving and other family friendly events (I hope I'm near that area...). Rain date - October 14.

Arts Central is Central Square's answer to Oktoberfest, minus the debauchery. Oodles of local businesses will have art installations up for the weekend, there will be two main sound stages for live music, plus all us funky craft folk. Rain or shine!

Though not until December, I'm too excited not to mention that Albertine Press was accepted into the highly competitive holiday alterna-craft fair - Bazaar Bizarre - in both Boston AND San Francisco!!! Marisa Escolar (my sometime partner in crime) will be heading up the SF branch of things, selling our cards along with her own fabu original prints (the new stuff is just amazing!).

And I'm so delighted to announce that Marisa will be visiting Boston for a whole week to work on some collaborative projects - starting next Thursday! So if you want to meet the brains behind the "Circus" cards and much, much more, come see us at Oktoberfest.

Miles of piles

My digital camera is broken, which is one of many reasons I haven't been posting much lately.

Rather, the camera's LCD screen is cracked, so I *can* take pictures, I just have no idea what they're of. Last week I finished reprinting nearly 2000 of the paper cut coasters and I just loved the way they looked all lined up and ready for packaging. So I took my chances (and about fifty pictures) and managed to get one decent, if not catalog-worthy photo.

Voila.

Time to sell some coasters so momma can get a new camera...

Yippie-ki-yay!

Please come and join us for a swell time at the Urban Country Fair in Union Square, Somerville this Sunday, September 23rd, from 3 until 7. There'll be crafters, farmers, country dancin' and a general tootin' good time. The weatherman has promised a sunny and warm (yes, warm!) weekend, so grab your friends, your kids, your friends' kids, and grandma, and come on down and enjoy the first days of fall in good company.

In addition to our regular fare of cards and coasters, I may even be toting along one of the little Kelsey's for demos at the fair (if I can convince Jacob to man the till).

Hope to see you there (and I promise to post more soon) !

Hot off the... electrons?

Decor8, one of the design blogs I read daily (and Boston-based to boot!), has posted about Albertine Press! Click here to read all about it. Thanks, Holly!
