Sadie at the NSS 2012

This post is so late in coming, but as we gear up for the IGF next week (so soon! too soon!) I found this draft and thought it time to edit and upload.

the crate arrived intact and setup went smoothly enough
So... back in May we exhibited at the National Stationery Show, where we are always happy to catch up with old friends, get facetime with many of our favorite clients, and see what's new in the stationery world. At the time I was also five months pregnant.

Angela putting the finishing touches on the table - also, it's not your imagination, our booth tilted to the right
As always, I brought Sadie along one morning to walk the show with me - see what there was to see through my favorite pair of little eyes.

Sadie and ladybug at the 9SpotMonk booth

These balloons by My Own Pet Balloon were *the* giveaway at the show. There was a veritable parade of grown men and women with dinosaur, dog and cow balloons "walking" along behind them. So of course it was the first stop of the morning for Sadie to pick out her own pet ladybug.

We took Mr. Ladybug (or miss, I honestly don't remember what she named it) to 9SpotMonk where Sadie drew some pictures on some of their newest color in cards.

At Sadie's insistence, the resulting masterpiece was proudly hung on the Albertine wall, alongside the other greeting cards.

We stopped for a faux cupcake at the Divine Twine booth, whose twine was also displayed like a cake tower.

Of course the blue of their walls just called out to me, being nearly the exact shade of blue that our booth was the past two years. Such a refreshingly bright color.

Feeling a little suspicious visiting our friends at Fugu Fugu Press.

Sadie points out some of her favorite new patterns of gift wrap by Kelly at May Day Studio.

We collected a notebook and admired the bunting at Pistachio Press.

Sadie met little Lincoln and we both admired the new digs of Old Tom Foolery, a far cry from the stark simple white booth across the way from us last year. Nicely done, guys!

Sadie found a comfy spot to sit and draw in Wild Ink Press, whose ombre booth walls were well documented on their gorgeous blog pre-show

They also had some of my absolute favorite cards of the show (letterpressed, of course)...

not to mention the super awesome keychain giveaway!

Eventually Sadie and the ladybug came "home" to roost at the Albertine Press / Carta Inc booth.

Thanks for the visit, peanut!

Matchbook notebook giveaway at NSS

Our collaborative giveaway this year at NSS is a matchbook-style notebook. Sponsored by Legion Paper (letterpress paper suppliers extraordinaire) and organized by Amber at Flywheel Press, those walking the show can wander and collect the full set of originally designed and letterpress printed notebooks, complete with a spiffy carrying case.

Our matchbook design features the new Amsterdam cityscape, which is also available on our brand, spanking new notebooks, available for wholesale order at the show.

Start your collection at booth #2042 with Albertine Press!

p.s. our "extras" will be available to non-industry folk at our craft fair appearances until they're gone.

Hello May!

We've been MIA on the blog lately, but there's been no shortage of news and excitement at the studio - our notebooks were featured on the Today Show earlier this week, we're working hard to design a fabulous new product for a great museum, and we're completely awash in wedding season.

But now it's time to turn our attention to the annual National Stationery Show in New York City. We're heading down next week to set up our booth with Carta, Inc where we'll show our new cityscape journals to the stationery world, as well as debut our 2012 holiday cards (yes, holiday season begins in May). Industry folk, stop by and say hi one aisle over from our usual location in booth #2012.

We'll try to feature these guys in more detail soon, but for the meantime, here's a snapshot of what's been keeping us all away from the social scene lately:

From top left: holiday cards, dads & grads, cityscape journals, coastal map save the dates, celtic wedding invites, office reorganization, sleigh bells ring, train ticket inspired save the dates, NSS matchbook notepad giveaway, double happiness wedding invitations, the full matchbook notepad.

Sadie at NSS - Part 2

And we're back "home" at the Albertine Press / Carta, Inc. booth. While Sadie was adorable in Zutano, both Angela and I sported Susy Pilgrim Waters originals.

s

Sadie chilled out in the corner methodically taking out and arranging all of my business cards.

The tableau of gifts and goodies relocated as well.

Angela's ribbons are so ridiculously photogenic.

I was so excited to meet one of Smudge Ink's newest additions (there are two), Oliver.

Lots of other design babes made appearances at the show, including Maika of Chewing the Cud (perhaps the happiest, cuddliest little girl!), Griffen from Linda & Harriett, Avery and Abigail (the other Smudglings), and one Enormous Champion baby-to-be. Next year look for the booth set up as a daycare for the toddling lot.

Sadie at NSS - Part 1

It's that time again - Sadie takes us through her favorite letterpress booths at the National Stationery Show (we have nothing against non-letterpressers, but Sadie pooped out before we got to see any).

First stop is May Day Studio where Sadie points out some of her favorite patterns in Kelly's display of hand-bound and letterpress printed albums, journals and note books.

Just next door, the origami mobile at Paper Boat Studios caught her eye, and Sadie was gifted with one of her own.

We're loving the print of their origami logo.

Around the corner we pick up paper windmills from our Twitter friends at Joie Studio (great carpet).

We started setting up little tableaus with all of the acquired goodies and friends, Matt the monkey and Mr. Pig. Ilee Paper Goods was an excellent backdrop.

Love love love the Greetings From line of cards.

Chocolate covered pretzels awaited us at 9SpotMonk where Tiffany helped make Matt and Mr. Pig comfortable.

Their new line of cards is a nice call back to the graffiti cards they produced a few years back. The bold graphics, colors, lettering are all awesome.

Another letterpress and bookbinding heaven, Igloo Letterpress had some great wooden letters in their display, perfect for play.

The townhouse journals are incredible and make a little neighborhood when all lined up on the shelf.

Sadie stopped to smell the roses, rather the incredible paper flower display at Sugarcube Press. It was even more fun than the Chihuly installation we visited because this one we could touch!

The ladies at Two Trick Pony inspired an impromptu yoga session (it's hard standing there all day long) with a downward facing dog in the aisle.

Sadie does her own impression of a finger mustache while posing next to the typestache bag from our across-the-aisle neighbors (and Louie Award winners!) Old Tom Foolery

Animal coasters and cards at Sesame Letterpress!

Look! A pig! Hannah from Pie Bird Press gifted Sadie and Mr. Pig one of her pig cards to add to our collection (we already have three other Pie Bird masterpieces hanging in our home).

Sadie was a good sport making it through so many booths, even as she got tired of saying hello to so many new people. Next stop Albertine Press.
