During a spate of post-mailing follow-up phone calls I spoke with a young sales woman at a store (to remain unnamed) in California. I asked if this store had received our catalog and was put on hold while she checked. In waiting, I rifled through the day's mail and found a returned catalog from that store! As she returned from hold I prepared to admit my mistake and ask for the correct address. To my great surprise, she instead said, rather curtly, that, "yes, we received it." Most amusing, since I was holding their catalog in my hand.
I choose to believe that this young woman is not responsible for purchasing decisions, and I will, instead, simply send another catalog.
To the right address.
